Simon August is an energy reporter for the Daily Caller News Foundation in Washington, D.C., where he covers oil and fuel markets and the federal policy decisions that shape what Americans pay for energy.
His recent reporting has examined the drawdown of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, record diesel prices and refining constraints, the effect of the war with Iran on Saudi crude exports, permitting reform in Congress, Environmental Protection Agency rulemaking, climate litigation headed to the Supreme Court and the electricity supply behind new data centers.

Before entering journalism, Simon worked in strategy consulting and in mergers and acquisitions.
